On July 15, 2015, the world's largest shipbuilder Hyundai heavy industries announced the company Korea establishment of an Innovation Center of Ulsan – Ulsan created economic innovation centre. Korea President Park himself attended the inauguration ceremony of the Center. It is understood that this innovative Centre will be divided into two parts, one on the University of Ulsan, another innovation support center in the city. The headquarters of Hyundai heavy industries, also based in Ulsan. This is the company in response to Korea initiatives innovative economy programme with the Government.
Korea President Park Geun-Hye said in his message: "Ulsan is Korea's industrial capital, where output and per capita income is the highest in the country, Korea major heavy industries such as shipbuilding, automobile and petrochemical products, are gathered here. However, Korea heavy industry was being around the challenges of national scientific and technological progress, I would like to see Ulsan Center through the integration of information and communication technology, to become a new generation of growth drivers, so as to inject new vitality into the existing industry. ”
The Centre will take on multiple tasks. First of all, it will be used to upgrade the technical strength of Hyundai heavy industries. Second, it will serve as a hub, hatch, 3D printing, and automatic medical service industry-related start-ups. Hyundai heavy industries hopes that 3D printing multiple ship components, saving you time and money in the production process, to promote the progress of the industry.
